Army National Guard
A ground braking ceremony was recently held for the New Armory National Guard Readiness Center. This $11 million dollar project is designed to construct two new buildings of approximately 50,000 square feet in the airports east development area. This project is being funded by the Department of Defences and is intended to replace and consolidate current operations in Carbondale, Cairo and Marion. The facility will house 17 full time staff and accommodate 275 weekend guard and reserve members.
